J ust another example how shadeless, cast-off lamps can be utilized in an artistic and functional manner. Instead of my necklaces getting all tangled in a drawer, they now sweetly hang from this lampshade-minus-shade. The Edison bulb paired nicely with this antique lamp, and the very low wattage creates warm mood lighting when needed. Chalk It Up

T here were a few things about this table that saved it from the scrap woodpile. For one, I couldn't let go of the unique basket weave inlay, and the cool finial hiding down below. Another saving grace was its big round top and shapely legs. Sadly, its finish was in terrible shape, and was not worth saving (leftover, faux distressed look from the early 80's). One thing I enjoy is rescuing art. It usually entails finding a good piece of art and giving it a beautiful new mat and frame. However, I recently realized that canvases also need rescuing, rescuing from bad art that is.
