don't usually post "before and after" photos, but the transformation of this slipper chair was too impressive not to share. T he woman who sold me these chairs said they were the only furniture of hers that survived the Oakland Hills fire of '91. The seats had been burned away, and the wrought iron had rusted. She didn't have a use for them anymore, and was happy to pass them along. So, I went to work with a wire brush to clean the iron, but was careful to preserve the patina. fell in love with this leather-top card table at a second-hand store. I cleaned it up and cut the legs down. Now I love it even more. I painted some plain white tiles for coasters, created a little zen garden, and put together some succulents in a vintage dish.
